“American Dream” is a 1990 documentary by Barbara Kopple that chronicles the 1985-86 strike by workers at the Hormel meatpacking plant in Austin, Minnesota, highlighting the struggles and conflicts faced by the labor union against corporate interests. The film received critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary.
